Natural pipe unlocking
Natural pipe-opening outlets are hot / boiling water or preparations based on white vinegar and baking soda. They have the advantage of not being dangerous, being environmentally friendly and can not damage your plumbing. The CMMTQ advises the following preparation to unclog a pipe:
- 1 cup of baking soda
- 1 cup of salt
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
Then pour ¼ cup of the resulting preparation into your sink, tub or shower. Wait a few minutes and add 1 cup of boiling water.
Chemical pipe-openers
Chemical pipe-openers are available at DIY stores and grocery store departments. The chemical pipe-openers are toxic, corrosive products that are extremely polluting. Misused, they can even damage your piping.
Blockage removal in the sink, hand holds a bottle of a special remedy with granules. Cleans the blockages in the bathroom with chemicals.
Unlocking a pipe by pressure
The pipe-presses allow the sending of air into the pipe and moves the blocking element. If improperly used, the press-out can press down the blocking element or move it until it completely obstructs the pipe or blocks a valve.
Mechanical pipe unlocking
Mechanical pipe openers are for the sewers or the toilets. They introduce a cable into the pipe which will push or raise the blocking material.
Do you have to use an pipe-opener or call a plumber?
None of these tips allow you to unclog your pipe despite several attempts? This is a sign that it is time to call a plumber to unclog your pipe. Do your calculations. Sometimes people buy all sorts of tools and products to unclog a pipe, only to realize that eventually they need a plumber. They would have lost less time and money by contacting a plumber directly to unblock it!
